Hi,
Does anyone know anything about eye sight & perception? I was told this morning, that after an Autistic specialist had been in school, that my son seemed to be holding head in different angles, when looking at the computer and his work as it seemed that he has a problem seeing what he is supposed to be doing. No-one has mentioned this before? But I do notice that when he is doing his usual hand smacking session that he is tending to look down and out of the corner of his eye whilst holding his head at an awkward angle.
Who would we need to see? Any ideas?
Thanks

My son has over the years seen opticians, orthoptist and opthalmologist. The optician, you can make an appointment to see yourself, the others are accessed via the GP. These people all deal with the eye and its defects.
The vision skills we need to understand, analyze, and interpret what we see are called visual perception. We have not met any professionals specifically for this - I don't know if there are any. Have a look at eyecanlearn.com for more information and suggestions.
best wishes

We have taken Samuel to see a behavioural optomotrist.
You do have to pay, its not all NHS - part of the payment should be, but I think its really worth paying for it.
They can give you some eye exercises that hopefully will help your son's eyesight get better.
